ZEISS ScanBox Series 4
Automated 3D metrology system
ZEISS ScanBox 4105 is the smallest fully automated metrology system from Carl Zeiss GOM Metrology. The system is a standardized plug-and-play solution where ease of use and high-end equipment go hand in hand.
ZEISS ScanBox 4105 utilizes an ATOS Q sensor mounted on a 6-axis robot. All moving parts are located inside a protected cell together with an automated rotary table. The specially designed sliding door allows heavy parts to be loaded by crane.

ZEISS ScanBox 4105
High resolution, precision and level of detail
The ZEISS ScanBox 4105 can be equipped with ATOS sensors featuring measuring volumes down to 80 × 60 × 60 mm³. This makes it possible to capture details as small as a few tenths of a millimeter.
At the same time, today’s industries place high demands on measurement accuracy and repeatability, requiring a traceable and self-monitoring solution.
Monitoring and supervision of the scanning process are integrated parts of the ZEISS ScanBox 4105, ensuring that potential scan errors are automatically removed from the measurement process.
The system is designed for fast and efficient inspection of small and complex parts up to 500 mm and is well suited for quality control of injection-molded parts, die-cast parts, tools, and formed, stamped, or bent components.
Compact design and easy to integrate
ZEISS ScanBox 4105 is mobile, and thanks to its plug-and-play setup, it can easily be integrated into production wherever it creates the most value. The automated setup reduces operator time while ensuring consistent scanning quality every time.
All measurement processes can be started directly from the integrated operator station, and the Kiosk Interface makes it easy to select measurement programs and start the inspection process.
With predefined programs, multiple parts can be inspected quickly without requiring extensive operator training.
In practice, this means more employees can operate the system as part of daily production, while maintaining a more consistent quality control process with less operator dependency.
In ZEISS INSPECT, the Virtual Measuring Room (VMR) controls the entire measurement process and simulates robot movements before execution. This makes it easier to plan and run automated measurements without requiring specialized robot programming skills.
