Automated 3D scanning

Part measurement without operator influence

3D scanning is a technology which creates a digital 3D model of a physical object. The technology is based on a light pattern being projected on the object, and is therefore also called 3D light scanning or 3D white light scanning.

The fully automated systems differ from manual 3D scanning by having one or more programmable robots, thereby increasing the speed at which series of parts are measured.

With its specialized software, even complex measuring assignments are easily programmed.

Zebicon is the Danish distributor of optical metrology systems from Carl Zeiss GOM Metrology, who's series of automated 3D scanners are called ScanCobot and ScanBox. These systems are designed to use various ATOS and GOM 3D scanners, depending on part size and needs.

Common for all ScanBox solutions are high repeatability and fast measurement for quality control of part series.

Exclusive to the ScanBox series, is the specialized software VMR (Virtual Measuring Room). This software simulates robot- and camera movements relative to the part, before the scanning is initiated.

The system accounts for shiny surfaces and adjusts to the optimum position, without damaging the part or the operator.

ZEISS ScanCobot

ZEISS ScanCobot is a cost-effective solution to get started with automated 3D scanning of parts up to 500 mm and 50 kg.

ATOS ScanBox Series 4

ATOS ScanBox 4105 is a fully automated metrology system, which is ideal for quality control of smaller parts up to 500 mm and 100 kg.

ZEISS ScanBox Series 5

ZEISS ScanBox 5108 and the larger model ZEISS ScanBox 5120 handle measurement of parts up to 2000 mm and 500 kg.

ATOS ScanBox Series 6

ATOS ScanBox 6135 and 6230 are ideal for part measurement of large components up to 3500 mm and 5000 kg.

ATOS ScanBox Series 7 & 8

The largest ATOS ScanBox series on the market. Perfect for measurement of large parts such as vehicles.
